Press Release:  Escape to the Loup

While everything around us seems to be in disarray these days, you can rely on the Loup to be there, same as always. Same Okanogan blue skies, same spectacular groomed slopes, and same family-friendly ski area. Sure, we will all be wearing masks this year, just like everyone else. That is not going to slow us down because you cannot stop the snow and you cannot stop winter, so mask up and let ‘er rip at the Loup!

Loup Loup Ski Bowl is one of only a few small non-profit ski areas in the Pacific Northwest. Loup Loup Ski Bowl is operated by the Loup Loup Ski Education Foundation whose mission is to provide winter sports education for our community through the operation of a safe, affordable, family friendly mountain destination for today and future generations. We believe being small is our biggest asset. You will not find a reservation system here to go skiing, and we do not have any parking lot shuttle buses because we don’t need any. As we are in the middle of replacing our old lodge with a brand new, 50% larger lodge, using your car as your temporary lodge this year means you’ll helping our new lodge be all set for next season!

We may be a little homegrown for some, but for most of our locals and first-time discoverers of the Loup, we wouldn’t want it any other way.  1,240 feet of glorious vertical with immaculately groomed runs by our ace mountain grooming staff, and views that stretch from the Lake Chelan-Sawtooth Wilderness to the Okanogan mountains and the Paysayten Wilderness.  Our playground is your playground because we are all one big family.

Come on back home or come discover the Loup for the very first time. We are only 240 miles from Seattle, 215 miles from Everett, 160 miles from Spokane, 100 miles from Wenatchee, but once you’re here it will seem like a thousand miles from nowhere and there’s no place that we’d rather be.

Come visit the Methow, Okanogan and Chelan valleys, and Escape to the Loup!

Please contact Dave Betts (manager@skitheloup.com) at 509-557-3401 if you have any questions.

EXCITING and TIME SENSITIVE News – PLEASE ACT NOW – Don’t MISS out!

The City of Okanogan passed Resolution 2020-10, Tuesday, November 17, 2020, granting Okanogan Business District businesses access to CARES funds (see map for reference of C1, C2, and C3 boundaries) and they have tasked the Chamber for help getting the word out.

CARES Grant Map Zones
The areas circled in RED are eligible for the City of Okanogan CARES Grant.

Okanogan businesses within the 3 city business districts are eligible for the $1–$5,000 grant if they can attest that they suffered economic hardship during the 2020 COVID pandemic. The application is very simple – attest you suffered a financial loss, sign your name, submit the application. Done.

Download the application here.

Here’s the catch: Qualifying businesses (those within the three business districts of the City of Okanogan) ONLY have until 10:00am November 30, 2020 to apply for the grant. PLEASE don’t wait!

The City offices are closed to the public, so you need to drop it in the Dropbox out front. The reason for the deadline time change is so that city employees can input all the information required into the accounting program and issue checks that same day.

This is a great opportunity to recoup some of the financial losses your business experienced as a result of the COVID–19 shut downs.

Again, here is the link to download the application.
