In an effort to tidy up the downtown Okanogan Business District and get ready for Okanogan Days and Harvest Fest, The Okanogan Chamber of Commerce and local businesses are reviving an old tradition which was an annual event in Okanogan for more than 50 years.
On Wednesday, May 29, 2024 from 3:30 pm to 6 pm business owners and other volunteers are invited to meet in downtown Okanogan in the parking lot across from the Cariboo Inn to help tidy up the downtown business district. Business owners are asked to pull weeds around their storefronts, wash windows, sweep sidewalks and buildings, pick up trash and maybe add a little bit of paint if needed.
Then, on Friday, October 4, 2024 from 3:30 pm to 6 pm we will do it all again! Not only will it minimize the risks related to the end of fire season, it will also revitalize downtown Okanogan in time for Harvest Fest and will let citizens and visitors know we are definitely open for business, proud of our town and we encourage folks to stop and enjoy our friendly, tidy downtown town for a while.
SO…Bring your gloves and brooms. Trash bags and water will be provided.
If your business needs assistance tidying up outside, please email okchamber@gmail.com with specific needs so they can direct volunteers your way.
